Greetings mighty adventurers!
As you may have heard, we are building a multipurpose trailer to use for hauling gear and food to our events, trail work days and to distribute educational materials.
Our trailer is a 1996 Jeep Cherokee, donated to the club. Other donations include used mud terrain tires, heavily discounted quarter panel armor, an anti sway tow bar set up and more.
***NEW UPDATE***
Our 1996 Cherokee shell is now being mounted on a 1968 3/4 Ton Military Trailer Frame, donated to the club when we found excessive rust and a thin unibody.
We're selling parts from the shell to club members (dirt cheap!), trading parts, and our budget is around $750 to cover materials like welding gas, welding wire, steel, parts, wheels, gas, etc. That being said, wheels alone are approximately $300 for three new wheels that match our 17" tires.
This event is to help us raise funds for the trailer. Any surplus will be rolled into the club's general funds/checking account to put towards our other club expenses (most likely our upcoming Vermont expedition).
Mohawk 4x4 Adventures is maintaining a live build progress sheet, and it can be mailed to anyone in the club that asks. We're documenting progress, expenses and donations on it.
Our first timeline goal is to get this trailer ready to haul gear/food, SWAG to Vermont for Labor Day Weekend. Our next timeline goal is to have it all dressed up for our two days at The Great American Jeep Rally. We'll accept donations for the project from now until January 1, 2018, so we can make continual improvements on it.
